How Fiverr fees work
Fiverr's Payment Terms credit the seller with 80% of the purchase amount, so Fiverr keeps a 20% commission, including on tips. On top of the gig price, the buyer pays a service fee; the Payment Terms describe it as 5.5% of the purchase amount, plus a small-order fee on purchases under a set amount. All four numbers are editable under Fee rates, because Fiverr updates them and they can differ by order type.
Buyer pays = gig price + 5.5% × gig price [+ small-order fee]
Gig price to earn X = X ÷ (1 − 20%)
Examples
| Gig price | You earn | Buyer pays |
|---|---|---|
| $100 | $80.00 | $109.00 ($5.50 fee + $3.50 small-order fee) |
| $125 (to earn $100) | $100.00 | $135.38 ($6.88 fee + $3.50 small-order fee) |
| $200 | $160.00 | $211.00 (no small-order fee) |
On a $100 gig, Fiverr's two fees together are $29, or 26.6% of the $109 the buyer pays.
Tips
- Price from what you want to earn. Use the second mode: to earn $100 you need a $125 gig.
- Remember the buyer's total. The buyer sees your price plus their fee, so a $100 gig costs them more than $100.
- Withdrawal costs are separate. Depending on how you withdraw, there can be further fees; check Fiverr's withdrawal options.
Fiverr's fees can change and some order types (hourly contracts, subscriptions, special programs) have different rules. Check Fiverr's Payment Terms and your order page for the current numbers.
